Goes along the lines of Amy and Caitlin's blogs.
Several things I'm thankful for over this past holiday weekend
1)My wife: Amy deals with my goofiness, clumsiness and all my quirks that make me, me and I'm certainly thankful for her!
2)My pup: Bindi may be a super brat and like to eat my shoes (thought that was just a myth about dogs eating shoes, but guess I was proved wrong), but shes cute and loves Amy and I unconditionally.
3)Having a home: Granted having a mortgage sucks, but its still good to be able to leave work at night and go to a place that I can call my own.
4)My in-laws: Everyone talks about the dreaded in laws but mine are great! They do so much for Amy and I, I can't begin to thank them for everything they do for us and have done for us!
5)My health: Got bad allergies, but I'm thankful that I'm healthy!
6My job: Sure I may have long days which might make me grumpy lol, but it's what I love to do! (not to mention it helps pay the bills too lol)
7)My friends: Also put up with my quirks and goofiness. Glad they put up with it!

Stuffed
I still feel stuffed today, the day after Thanksgiving. Ate so much yesterday. Turkey, linguica stuffing, potatoes, peas, cranberry sauce. And to top it off, brownie pie and ricotta pie. So so good but so so filling!
Now, I'm sitting here at work, bored while everyone got up at the butt crack of dawn to get some crazy deal on Black Friday. Definitely not worth the aggravation if you ask me. At the local Walmart here it was said that there were several hundred people lined up to get these wicked good deals. I just don't get it. Really? Is it worth it? You're probably better off just going online when you get up in the morning to get these sales.
Anyways, here I sit, bored as all heck. At least I have a fellow companion who is also working on this Black Friday to keep me company. (Thanks Caitlin!)

Sunday Sunday Sunday!
Another boring Sunday here at work. I'd much rather be home sleeping in my nice comfy bed with my warm pellet stove. But nope, here I am, blogging lol. I guess it's okay that the Patriots are playing at 1 so I can kill some time watching that. I'll probably pop open my book too while I'm here as well. Other than that though, working til 4, going home and getting ready to watch the return of 24! Been a long time coming! Thank goodness its back!

Woodstoves & Fireplaces Unlimited
You call that customer service? Is exactly what Amy and are saying to each other after being treated horribly by a business we paid a lot of money to for a service.
We recently had a wood pellet stove installed at our house and this was a pretty hefty investment. We put down a deposit to get the date locked in and once the stove was installed, we paid off the rest of the stove in full (or so we thought).
A couple days later we received a call from this particular business (who will remain anonymous) saying that THEY made a mistake in simple addition and we still actually owed them $200. I was like um, what? Are you kidding? We have to pay for YOUR mistake?! And when I told them that this was outrageous they then threatened me by saying that by not paying for THEIR mistake, they would not service our stove? Never have I been so mistreated in my life! We have since paid the bill, attached was a nasty letter saying that we would advertise how bad their customer service was. They have now lost several customers because of this. I hope losing those customers was worth that $200.
Heck with them being anonymous per Amy!

Happy Birthday to me!
Yep, In about 2 minutes from now I'll officially be 29 years old. Was born 9:40am on November 16th, 1979!
So last night Amy made me an awesome steak dinner with Potatoes and shes cooking me a birthday cake today! Can't wait! Also last night it was quite enjoyable just kinda relaxing with no where to go, no where to be. Although we did end up going grocery shopping at BJ's since we lost power and then ended up getting caught in a major downpour on our way out! But anyways, we just hung out, watched the Bruins, Cops, and Top chef while having some delicious pomegranate martinis!
Thanks Amy! :)

Happy Birthday to me!
So I was on my days off from work and I wake up on Thursday the 13th to find a card addressed to me. So I was like "Hmm". On the front of the card was "A long, long time ago" (think Star Wars) and on the inside it said "You were born" and meanwhile the card was playing the Star wars music haha! Also included inside were 3 tickets to the Bruins Montreal game that night! I coulda never have guessed it! Amy got me such a great present and something I really had no idea what it would be.
So we sat in the Loge section which was 15 rows back behind the net of the Montreal side. Couldn't believe how many Montreal fans were there! It was probably about half of the crowd! Well, needless to say, they were quiet almost all night cuz the Bruins kicked butt 6-1! With chants of "Carrrr-eyyy" (The Montreal Goalie) and "Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey, gooddddbyee" made it quite an enjoyable to taunt the Montreal fans. Not to mention, the guy sitting next to me was crazy! And he wasn't even drinking! He was all about the high fives and just going nuts!! Then on the T ride home a Mtl fan and a Boston fan almost had it out.
So overall, Amy totally rocks and can't thank her enough! Tonight shes making me a steak dinner and tomorrow her parents are cooking me a dinner!

Yes we can!
Well, the elections come and gone and I'm mostly satisfied with the results. I'm happy with who got elected President. As Caitlin said, "This has gotten me interested in politics" which I have to agree. While Bush has been in office I've been hohum but now with Obama I feel he could hopefully make a difference with the country. I hope that he can get us out of the rut that we're in and have other countries actually like us and not hating us.
As for the Massachusetts ballot questions, I'm not all too happy with the outcome of them.
Question 1-Eliminate State Income-Didn't pass which I'm happy cuz that would cut state funding even more than its already getting cut and put the PD even more at risk
Question 2-Decriminalization of Marijuana-I have no idea how this passed but it did something like 70% yes...this is just stupid. People try to justify why its good but I'll never buy it. Especially with the field I'm in now we just let people who are smoking joints get away with it by giving them a $100 ticket. Whoop de do
Question 3-Banning greyhound racing-This is the one I felt most strongly about and now dog racing is going to be banned in MA. For several reasons. A)My mother in law has worked there for 20+ years and now will be out of a job B)Police details will now be gone once the track closes. C)Now because of the stupid ASPCA supporting this dogs will be sent off to other states without regulations and others could possibly be put to sleep. How could societies sworn to protect the rights of defenseless animals let this happen and support this? Why would you support something where dogs are going to be killed. This is absolute blasphemy and I wil NEVER support the ASPCA and I know that my mother in law will never give money to them again. It's an outrage.
Well, thats the end of my rant. As I said, I'm both happy and upset with the results.

Minority
I feel like the minority around here. I think I'm the only guy here at the PD who voted for Obama. I woulda thought my coworker who is around my age woulda voted for Barack as well but shes voting for McCain. Oh well, I keep my opinion to myself around here cuz I don't feel like starting any fights :P
