Holidays

So it was a good holiday this year (minus Dec 26th).

Christmas Eve I worked til 4pm and then went home and hung out with Amy for a bit until we went and did the yearly get together with some family friends where we essentially eat and then go play pool.

Christmas Day got up around 6am and opened presents with Amy. She got me a new wallet (actually Bindi got it for me since she ate my old one), the series Generation Kill on DVD (HBO Special), a couple books, some shirts and 3 XBox games: Fallout 3, Fable 2 and Call of Duty.

Then went to the in-laws where they got us a ton of stuff including clothes, a stepladder, a mirror, a Keurig coffee maker and a bunch of other stuff. Then we vegged around the house til about 3pm not wanting to go anywhere. We finally got our butts in gear and went to my Nana's where Nana gave us a target gift card and my Aunt Debbie got me home movies which brought back a lotta memories :)

Then it was off to Amy's Nana/Papa's house where she forced down alcohol down our throats lol! Never would I have thought that she'd make us have a drink lol. Then finally after all was said and done we were zonked and went home and had some cocktails and watched The Office by the stove. Had a great day overall minus the fact that I got forced into work the next day so I didn't get to hang out with Amy and play with my toys. So that's the extent of our Christmas.

Salary cap time?

This is really starting to get old. I know everyone knows that the Yankees are one of the worst spending teams in the league and it just isn't fair to some of the other teams out there who can't even compete with them (I know, I should take into consideration the Red Sox too but NYY is way worse). This is definitely something that is always brought up but I figure I'd take my shot at it too. NYY has just spent 243 MILLION on two players and now theres talk about going after Manny Ramirez or Mark Teixeira...that'd probably put it at over $400 million for 3 players. That's just absolutely ridiculous! So yea, I know it'll probably never happen, but I think that some sort of cap needs to be implemented in order to balance out the league. Granted it may hurt the Sox a bit, but it'll hurt the Yankees more and it'll balance out the league greatly.

CC Sabathia-7 years/$161 million
AJ Burnett- 5 years/$82.5 million
Manny Ramirez or Mark Teixeira-who knows, but it'll probably be some crazy amount

What should the Red Sox do?

Gonna post up a poll. Just because I'm bored here at work and figure I mine as well see what Red Sox nation thinks that the Red Sox should do this offseason.

Be advised, you can select multiple answers in the poll

It's in the hole!

So yea, its almost 4am, and here I am blogging. Blogging here while working an overnight shift. So I just popped in Caddyshack and of course a call comes in! How dare a call comes in and interrupts me! Lol, just kidding...all part of my job haha. So ya, just been passing the time playing games, watching some tv and plain old nothing. So yup. I could sure go for another coffee right about now.

Things I'm thankful for...

Goes along the lines of Amy and Caitlin's blogs.

Several things I'm thankful for over this past holiday weekend

1)My wife: Amy deals with my goofiness, clumsiness and all my quirks that make me, me and I'm certainly thankful for her!

2)My pup: Bindi may be a super brat and like to eat my shoes (thought that was just a myth about dogs eating shoes, but guess I was proved wrong), but shes cute and loves Amy and I unconditionally.

3)Having a home: Granted having a mortgage sucks, but its still good to be able to leave work at night and go to a place that I can call my own.

4)My in-laws: Everyone talks about the dreaded in laws but mine are great! They do so much for Amy and I, I can't begin to thank them for everything they do for us and have done for us!

5)My health: Got bad allergies, but I'm thankful that I'm healthy!

6My job: Sure I may have long days which might make me grumpy lol, but it's what I love to do! (not to mention it helps pay the bills too lol)

7)My friends: Also put up with my quirks and goofiness. Glad they put up with it!

Stuffed

I still feel stuffed today, the day after Thanksgiving. Ate so much yesterday. Turkey, linguica stuffing, potatoes, peas, cranberry sauce. And to top it off, brownie pie and ricotta pie. So so good but so so filling!

Now, I'm sitting here at work, bored while everyone got up at the butt crack of dawn to get some crazy deal on Black Friday. Definitely not worth the aggravation if you ask me. At the local Walmart here it was said that there were several hundred people lined up to get these wicked good deals. I just don't get it. Really? Is it worth it? You're probably better off just going online when you get up in the morning to get these sales.

Anyways, here I sit, bored as all heck. At least I have a fellow companion who is also working on this Black Friday to keep me company. (Thanks Caitlin!)

Sunday Sunday Sunday!

Another boring Sunday here at work. I'd much rather be home sleeping in my nice comfy bed with my warm pellet stove. But nope, here I am, blogging lol. I guess it's okay that the Patriots are playing at 1 so I can kill some time watching that. I'll probably pop open my book too while I'm here as well. Other than that though, working til 4, going home and getting ready to watch the return of 24! Been a long time coming! Thank goodness its back!

Woodstoves & Fireplaces Unlimited

You call that customer service? Is exactly what Amy and are saying to each other after being treated horribly by a business we paid a lot of money to for a service.

We recently had a wood pellet stove installed at our house and this was a pretty hefty investment. We put down a deposit to get the date locked in and once the stove was installed, we paid off the rest of the stove in full (or so we thought).

A couple days later we received a call from this particular business (who will remain anonymous) saying that THEY made a mistake in simple addition and we still actually owed them $200. I was like um, what? Are you kidding? We have to pay for YOUR mistake?! And when I told them that this was outrageous they then threatened me by saying that by not paying for THEIR mistake, they would not service our stove? Never have I been so mistreated in my life! We have since paid the bill, attached was a nasty letter saying that we would advertise how bad their customer service was. They have now lost several customers because of this. I hope losing those customers was worth that $200.

Heck with them being anonymous per Amy!

Happy Birthday to me!

Yep, In about 2 minutes from now I'll officially be 29 years old. Was born 9:40am on November 16th, 1979!

So last night Amy made me an awesome steak dinner with Potatoes and shes cooking me a birthday cake today! Can't wait! Also last night it was quite enjoyable just kinda relaxing with no where to go, no where to be. Although we did end up going grocery shopping at BJ's since we lost power and then ended up getting caught in a major downpour on our way out! But anyways, we just hung out, watched the Bruins, Cops, and Top chef while having some delicious pomegranate martinis!

Thanks Amy! :)

Happy Birthday to me!

So I was on my days off from work and I wake up on Thursday the 13th to find a card addressed to me. So I was like "Hmm". On the front of the card was "A long, long time ago" (think Star Wars) and on the inside it said "You were born" and meanwhile the card was playing the Star wars music haha! Also included inside were 3 tickets to the Bruins Montreal game that night! I coulda never have guessed it! Amy got me such a great present and something I really had no idea what it would be.

So we sat in the Loge section which was 15 rows back behind the net of the Montreal side. Couldn't believe how many Montreal fans were there! It was probably about half of the crowd! Well, needless to say, they were quiet almost all night cuz the Bruins kicked butt 6-1! With chants of "Carrrr-eyyy" (The Montreal Goalie) and "Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey, gooddddbyee" made it quite an enjoyable to taunt the Montreal fans. Not to mention, the guy sitting next to me was crazy! And he wasn't even drinking! He was all about the high fives and just going nuts!! Then on the T ride home a Mtl fan and a Boston fan almost had it out.

So overall, Amy totally rocks and can't thank her enough! Tonight shes making me a steak dinner and tomorrow her parents are cooking me a dinner!

Yes we can!

Well, the elections come and gone and I'm mostly satisfied with the results. I'm happy with who got elected President. As Caitlin said, "This has gotten me interested in politics" which I have to agree. While Bush has been in office I've been hohum but now with Obama I feel he could hopefully make a difference with the country. I hope that he can get us out of the rut that we're in and have other countries actually like us and not hating us.

As for the Massachusetts ballot questions, I'm not all too happy with the outcome of them.

Question 1-Eliminate State Income-Didn't pass which I'm happy cuz that would cut state funding even more than its already getting cut and put the PD even more at risk

Question 2-Decriminalization of Marijuana-I have no idea how this passed but it did something like 70% yes...this is just stupid. People try to justify why its good but I'll never buy it. Especially with the field I'm in now we just let people who are smoking joints get away with it by giving them a $100 ticket. Whoop de do

Question 3-Banning greyhound racing-This is the one I felt most strongly about and now dog racing is going to be banned in MA. For several reasons. A)My mother in law has worked there for 20+ years and now will be out of a job B)Police details will now be gone once the track closes. C)Now because of the stupid ASPCA supporting this dogs will be sent off to other states without regulations and others could possibly be put to sleep. How could societies sworn to protect the rights of defenseless animals let this happen and support this? Why would you support something where dogs are going to be killed. This is absolute blasphemy and I wil NEVER support the ASPCA and I know that my mother in law will never give money to them again. It's an outrage.

Well, thats the end of my rant. As I said, I'm both happy and upset with the results.

Minority

I feel like the minority around here. I think I'm the only guy here at the PD who voted for Obama. I woulda thought my coworker who is around my age woulda voted for Barack as well but shes voting for McCain. Oh well, I keep my opinion to myself around here cuz I don't feel like starting any fights :P

Oil Schmoil

So yesterday I thought I'd be super productive. First got a call to work a road detail where it was considered an 8 hour minimum (meaning if I worked say 10 minutes I'd still get paid 8 hours for it no matter how much I worked). Then got my car inspected and then decided that would I change my oil today. Ended up being a disaster. I had the drain pan lined up where the oil was draining but forgot to take into account that I'd need to move it as the oil drained out. So when I sat up I saw oil friggin on the driveway and went into a panic lol and threw sand everywhere to soak it up. Gonna leave it like it for awhile and hope it doesn't stain the driveway too bad. Then when I was wrapping up, I thought I had enough clearance where I was layin and smacked my head on the AFrame ugh lol!

It's over already :(

So at this point last week, myself, Amy and Caitlin were probably just about getting up and getting ready to head down to the Cape. Seems like it was just yesterday she was here. The whole weekend went by like a blur and only wish that we had more time to show Caitlin more of the sites and sounds. Only hope that she comes back so we can relax a little bit more and show her some more of the area. Who knows, maybe Hanson will stop by again ;)

Date night! + Weekend

So this past Friday, Amy and I decided that we were gonna do a "date night" since we really don't go out on dates much anymore. We were gonna go to this place called the Chateau and eat there but there were cars lined up on the side of the road for probably about a 1/4 mile! So we just ended up going to Ruby Tuesday where I got steak and Parmesan fries while Amy got this Southwestern Pasta dish which was pretty yummy! After that we just went home and kinda relaxed after long days at work.

As for the rest of the weekend, we decided to join Amy's parent in the pellet craze! Originally we were just going to split a 1/2 ton of pellets (25 40 lb bags) then we were convinced to get another ton! So all together now we got 95 40 lb bags of pellets sitting in our garage. Did we mention that we cleaned out the garage too! So essentially half the garage now is pellets LOL. Then we entertained my Gramma, all before noon! Then that night we decided to rock out with Rock Band 2 and it's mad addicting!

Sunday watched the Pats get blown out of the water 38-13 by Miami and the Sox clinched a tie for the wild card. So all in all it was a pretty interesting weekend!

Aye, talk like a pirate day, gar!

Well, today is the international day of pirate speak so the rest of my blog will be all pirate speak!

Arrr, well, today is Friday and I'm so ready for the weekend. Today Amy and Me be goin' out t' eat for a "date night" and gonna pick between a couple places and then probably plop our butts down on the couch and just relax for the rest o' the eve. So happy t' have the weekend off, it just seems like its been such a long week, argh! And this weekend we'll be gettin' Rock Band 2 so I'm sure we'll be playin' that probably 30 out o' the 48 hours that's Saturday and Sunday.

Rock n roll, argh!

Never Forget

So today and pretty much every year on this date, a few very kind citizens of the town bring in pizza and snacks for the PD/FD. Always find that nice that there are people out there that are thankful for what we do. Not everyone out there realizes it but those that do definitely share their kindness. Still weird to think this happened 7 years ago :(

So on September 10th 2001, the day before, I had gotten off work (worked at South Station, a train station in Boston as a cell phone rep) and Amy had come up from her school to visit me. So some of her friends and I walked around the city that night for a lil bit. Odd thinking that was the last normal day that we would have. Thankfully I didn't work the next day cuz it would have been chaos! I had school and was commuting down to school and had heard on the radio what had happened and then had to go to class. When I got out of class they had giant screens up in the cafeteria showing the buildings collapsing. At that point, they told everyone that the campus was being shut down and those that didn't have to stay, to go home. So I went home, worried about Amy and how she went to school near the city then went to pick her up that afternoon. We came home and just watched footage all night about it and we were just awestruck at how every channel had coverage of this horrible disaster.

May those that perished never be forgotten.

Foosball!

Time for some Patriots football! Although it's not too encouraging when your star player, Mr Gisele Bunchen (aka Tom Brady) goes out with a serious injury in the first quarter in the first game of the season! Eek!

Oh, and Hanna? Pfft lol...we got a few inches of rain, no apparent wind damage from her. What a wussy storm lol.

So here I sit, counting down the minutes til my days off and hoping the Pats can somehow pull off a crazy win with Matt Cassel. Yay?

Hanna-bo-banna

She's a comin! Not gonna be severe or anything. Expecting here in my area 40-60mph wind gusts. More of the rain that I'm worried about. They're expecting 3-6" here. So we'll see.

According to Ollie the Weatherman:

After Hanna it's Ike. Looks like it could hit LA/MS who's just getting over Gustav. It's path has it going over Cuba so let's hope it just weakens and ends up being nothing

Get outta my head!

So I've this one song stuck in my head:

As soon as I get it unstuck out of my head I see the commercial again so hence it gets stuck in my head. It's a video for the game Mercenaries 2

Now, I just watched this video and I'm sure I'll have this stuck in my head all day:

So ya, enjoy, and I hope you get them stuck in your head too! :P

Back to work!

So D.C. was a great time. Saw all the tourist-y sites and probably did about 45 miles of walking (or so it seems). Totalled probably about 19 hrs worth of driving which wasn't too too bad. The trip was definitely worth it though. Felt good to get away from work for awhile and wish I was still there.

Here's a gallery of the 400+ pix we took.

Two more Days!

Til we go to DC! Been getting everything organized, cleaned up, packed etc. Seems like theres so much to do but thankfully we've been getting everything done. Tomorrow going to pick up the car and we'll be packing up the car that night and leaving early Saturday morning! :)

It's the final countdown!

So ya, added some countdowns (See sidebar)

Other than that, nothing notable going on.

Shipping off to Boston!

Woah woah woah!

So this weekend we decided to yank up some of the old shrubs in the front yard and boy was it some backbreaking work! Ended up planting a whole bunch of new ones and now the house looks so much cleaner and not as old timey as it used too. After that we had some much needed relaxation while enjoying some pizza and beer while watching the Olympics and the red sox.

Sunday it was more of a lounging around day where we mostly just hung around the house. Did some cleaning and laid down some mulch, but other than that, we didn't lift a finger :P

Today Amy had jury duty which she totally dreaded but she was out in an hour and a half! Lucky her!

On a side note, in regards to my title, Amy's BFF, Caitlin is coming up for the weekend in October to enjoy the band that has tied them together for the past 8+ years (even before Amy met me!) Oughta be a fun time for the two of them where we get to Boston-ize Caitlin and she officially will lose the letter R from her alphabet :)

What grinds my gears

I don't get it. All these people that go on TV and leave their bluetooth headsets in their ears and all those people that walk around with them in their ears and they're not even using them. Is it that stylish? Are you too busy to take it off your ear? Too much work? I don't get it, does it make you look cooler? Lol, thats it for my rant :P

Welcome to Kansas

Since when has the tiny little town of Raynham become Kansas? Feel like I've been transported the movie Wizard of Oz. The other day I'm sitting at home, just twiddling my thumbs (okay so I was playing XBox) when Amy calls me and is like "There's a tornado warning in Raynham!" I'm like ok haha funny...wait, what? So I gather up the pup and a bunch of necessities and head down to the cellar. Shortly after here comes the lightning, the thunder and torrential rain. So bad that water was coming everywhere into the basement! Thought Bindi and I were gonna float away! Lol, thankfully we survived and then yesterday there was a possible tornado in NH killing one person and destroying several homes. This is quite odd because this isn't a common occurrence here in MA and New England. Anyways, that's really it from here...like Amy, I'm a bad blogger and need to update more :-P

Crazy past few days!

Now playing: Queen - Who Wants To Live Forever
via FoxyTunes

Thursday we actually up picked out the wood pellet stove that we're having installed (having it done in October which is the soonest they can do it!!!) It was actually just starting to get busy there too and we went there right when it opened. After we ended up doing that, we went down to Falmouth which is a town on the southern part of the Cape ( Map). So we basically hung around the town, went to the beach, did some shopping and then ate at a lil Irish pub/restaurant. Wasn't too shabby.

Friday we ended up going to the Museum of Science. They got this baseball exhibit-link, which I think is a travelling exhibit that goes throughout the whole country on a tour more or less with all this memorabilia from the 1800's-present. More or less a mini Cooperstown. I was like a lil like a little kid going from exhibit to exhibit, taking it all in. They had lil interactive things too, which I did most of. They have one where you can pitch from the 60' 6" mark at a target (needless to say I'm a lil rusty HA!) They had a thing to test reaction time (didn't do that), a radar to see how fast you throw (I didn't crack 60mph lmao!) and they had this one where you stand behind some glass and this machine pitches you a 90mph fastball and you test your reaction time by pressing a button when you think you need to swing. First pitch I was a tad early, second I looked like a fool! So that was mighty fun! :-D Went throughout the rest of the museum too for awhile and that was might fun as well.

So by this time we were pretty famished and decided we needed to get some grub before sitting on the train for the next 45 minutes. So we walk by the Gah-den and are walking along and we see Boston Beer Works. If you click on Canal Street and then the Outdoor Patio, that's where we ate. Amy ended up ordering a Watermelon Ale which had this slice of watermelon that added a lil additional flavor to her beer while I had a Boston Common which was more or less like a Sam Adams. For grub, Amy got this Pesto chicken thing stuffed in a roll called a "Dreaded Monster" meanwhile I had a "Nor'easter Chicken Sandwich" which essentially was grilled chicken, cheddar cheese and Canadian Bacon.

So we're probably halfway through our meal when another couple comes and sits down in the table right next to us. I did a triple take, and being the lil kid that I am, I go to Amy, "OMG, that's Patrice Bergeron from the Boston Bruins!" So meanwhile I'm trying to control my giddiness and Amy apparently was getting embarrassed lol. The girl he was with was an identical twin to Jessica Simpson if I've ever seen one but I highly doubt that it was her because Patrice was speaking French the whole time and I highly doubt Jessica knows French lol! So at some point, I go to Amy, I'm gonna get a scrap piece of paper from the bar and have him sign it! Needless to say I was so nervous the whole time and as I go up to him, I politely ask for his autograph and he obliges. I thankfully had my digicam with me so I then asked for a picture with him!! So ya, that sure made my day and was on cloud 9 for the rest of the day. I'd imagine it probably felt good to be recognized outside your profession and it was even kinda funnier cuz after I did the auto/pic people became really curious and I don't think anyone had any clue as to who he was!
Me and Patrice

Then Saturday I dragged Amy to the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Dropkick Murphys concert. It was so much fun I think Amy probably got embarrassed by my sheer goofyness!! :-D

Thursday-Falmouth/Beach
Friday-Museum of Science-Baseball Exhibit
Saturday-Dropkick Murphys/Mighty Mighty Bosstones

So yea, needless to say, I'm quite busy these next few days. Amy's taking a couple days off and we're working on our "Summer List" Basically a bunch of things that we've compiled that we wanna get done during the summer. So far we're actually doing a decent job on it and we'll be crossing a couple more things off after Friday!

Another fun weekend!

I so can't wait for this weekend. Amy and I are going to, get this...THE DRIVE IN!! Not too many of those around anymore but we're going to one of the few here in New England. Gonna see Get Smart and WallE(all for only $20!). Oughta be a real fun time since everyone tells us to BYOB...not something you'd expect for a movie joint. So Amy and I are gonna pile into the truck, pack some food and some other "beverages" and head on up to Mendon! Earlier in the day, Amy's gonna get to do her favorite thing, SHOP! Old Navy is having a super duper sale so I'm sure we'll spend like $400 and I gotta get me a new pair of kicks so either way, it's gonna be super duper fun! :P

As for Sunday, no idea so it could just end up being a Netflix day :)

Thursday, June 19, 2008

Baseball, bowling etc

So lets see here, just started doing a picture of the day thing where I take a picture for 365 days. Hopefully I can keep up with it lol. Here's a link to it 365. Then tomorrow, Amy, her brother and friend and myself are all going Mystic Bowling...oughta be interesting since, like Amy, haven't bowled in YEARS. Then gonna go hang out by the visitors tunnel at the Brockton Rox game! Woo baseball! Maybe Amy will win the diamond ring they're giving away! And I'm sure she's thrilled that a Bon Jovi tribute band will be playing afterwards! On Sunday, it's gonna be our relaxation day where I don't think that we're gonna do ANYTHING but veg...probably indoors cuz as Ollie the Weatherman in his Black-U-Weather forecast would say "It's gonna rain!"

Late night

You will see that it is currently 0220 hrs here. Yes, I am up. Yes I am blogging. Why you ask? Just take a look at Ana's blog and you'll see why! I'm currently working an overtime shift 12a-8a. I'm already pooped and I still got 5 1/2 hours to go lol. Thankfully I got Ana, some food, a bunch of movies (Tora! Tora! Tora!, Transformers, XMen and the Red Sox World Series DVD) and my Nintendo DS. I come prepared! Lol...now, back to sitting here wishing I was asleep.

Busy, yet relaxed

So got a busy day today, Saturday. Working 8-4 then off to Cape Cod to a car museum for a wedding. So Saturday's pretty booked up.

As for Sunday, just the opposite. Took the day off to hang out with Amy and looks like I picked a scorcher of a day:

91 Degrees Mostly Sunny and from what I've heard...HUMID! So we're probably just gonna relax, watch Semi Pro and maybe do some grocery shopping and also RELAX! B-)

Tuesday, June 3, 2008

Well I looked like a goon

I thought I'd totally just hang out with Amy and watch what I thought would be American Gladiators last night in its Green episode, but the Stanley Cup playoffs were on instead. Guess I gotta wait another week :(

Sunday, June 1, 2008

The theme is green.

Yup, I'm blogging in green today for many reasons.

1) It's a beautiful day out and I'm green with envy that Amy gets to hang out with the pup in the wicked nice weather.

2) In honor of the Incredible Hulk who's presence will be felt at American Gladiators tomorrow. Titan will don green paint all over his body to imitate the hulk and I think the gladiators will be using giant "hulk fists" during the Gauntlet run.

3) Because I enjoy saving the planet with my Earth friendly bags!

Rubber Ducky you're the one!

So yesterday, while out shopping for a flag to hang on this stake we got, we found a relative of Pato who has yet to be named, but will probably be named Anatra, the Italian-Mexican cousin of Pato who journeyed to the shores of New England. I'm sure once Anatra has become accustomed to his new home, he will shed his serape and start blogging! So stay tuned! Anatra seems like he'll be quite the rambunctious lil duck!

Long day of work

Working a 16 hour day today. Gotta make me some bling-o! Thankfully though I'm off tomorrow so I can kinda sleep it off and then gotta go to the dump cuz we have bout 2 mths worth of trash/recyclables haha.

I would much rather be home right now hula hooping or ski jumping in Wii Fit but nah...sitting here playing Pogo, reading and surfing the web, blogging (and getting paid for it!)

I'll catch up tomorrow though with Fit/XBox :)

I be boredddd

Really haven't done much of anything at work. Basically been sitting here, whether it be playing pogo, reading or watching the LA Dodgers play on a Play by Play on mlb.com. I've just been flat out borrreeeeddd! And now Amy disappeared on me! :P Comeeee backkk lol

Rain, rain, go away

So I'm sitting here at work, looking out at the dreariness of the outside world and realize that it seems like all week its sunny (but cool, blah) and then the weekend comes along and mother nature is like, "I'm gonna stick it to New England and make it rain". Seems like more or less that's what it does every weekend, at least to start off the spring. If I remember correctly...last year for like 2 months straight, every weekend it'd be a washout. Doesn't really matter to me, cuz most of the time I'm here at work. But I know, with having the next two sets of weekends off, I'm sure it'll be a washout and Amy and I will be stuck inside the house with cabin fever. Oh well, at least I won't be work :-D

Fawning over a Focus

So Amy just got a Focus and boy am I jealous! It has so many fun lil things like ambient lighting, cruise control, Sirius radio and of course, Sync! Makes me wanna trade in my truck for one, but having a truck comes in handy so it wouldn't make sense (altho if gas keeps going up, who knows). I am, however, gonna miss Amy's old car, Leon the Neon :( Hope your new owner takes care of ya!

Discovery Channel Rules!

I love the Discovery Channel. Between Mythbusters and Futureweapons and Cash Cab I could watch that channel all day. And I can't wait for this upcoming Thursday on CSI where the crew from Mythbusters (Adam, Jamie and Buster) will be making an appearance! If that doesn't spell g33k, I dunno what does lol. Oh, and did I mention that they have the catchiest commercial ever? All I have to say is Boom dee odda!

Live long and prosper!

Did you ever notice...

That with warmer weather, one seems to be more motivated and in a better mood? Sure seems like it for me at least. And also with the warmer weather, people wear brighter and 'happier' clothes. I noticed this both with Amy (wearing bright yellow and green the last couple days) and with all the newscasters last night (Anchorwoman wearing pink and all the guys wearing oddly bright orange ties and baby blue shirts

So what do I want...

For my colors on my blog:

Do I want to keep the

Black and Gold (Bruins)

Or do I want to change it up:

Red and Blue (Pats/Red Sox)
Green and White (Celtics)

Also, the format I got seems kinda boring...outta the templates they got out there, any suggestions on how to spice up my blog?

Lemme know! :)

Patriots Day!

Factoid: Did you know that Patriots Day is only celebrated in Mass, Maine and Wisconsin? Now you do! :P

Another great thing about Patriots Day is the early start to the Sox (11am). On top of that, they're running the Boston Marathon...glad I don't live in Boston today! So much traffic! Anyways, not really much else shakin with me. Work, work, work. Seems like all I really do, then go home, eat dinner and watch the mindless 50" TV for hours :P Probably will end up going out for a walk with the pup and Amy tonight and then plopping our butts down, as usual, in front of the TV for a few hours.

Hohum, that is all!

Spring sprung?

Has it sprung yet? Sure looks like it and sure enough, that means its the funnest season of all. Allergy season! Yippy! Can't wait for these lil buggers

to come wreak havoc on my sinuses! At least it'll be warm! Lol, gotta stock up on the Claritan now, even though in MA its like you're being blacklisted for buying allergy medicine. Oh well.

Boredness > Me

I've been out of training for oh, 25 minutes now and I'm already bored outta my skull lol. But ya, really not much going on here. Amy and I have been on a healthy kick this week eating zero snacks (well, we have eaten gummy bears but they're fat free!). After Saturday tho, it'll probably be a gorgefest lol.

But ya, playoffs for hockey start tonight! (like my Bruins color theme?) Although the Bruins are playing Montreal and will probably get they're arses kicked (haven't beat them in forever it seems).

Daylight Savings

So this clock we have automatically reverts to daylight savings time. Well, we bought this BEFORE the government decided to change it all around. So the clock decided to do DST today, Monday of all days, BLAH. So I wake up, and I'm like man it still seems kinda dark out. So I look at my phone and sure enough its 6:05am when we don't actually get up til 7:05. So Amy's like set the alarm on your phone for 7:05. Well, I did...but for PM and not AM! Next thing we know its 7:45. Booooo. Oh well, now I'm just extra tired and its Monday. Zzz

Ding Dong this!

So it was an interesting weekend, early start to my Monday. Saturday we kicked back and relaxed while enjoying a few cocktails. Then Sunday we went to the Wrentham Outlets cuz Amy wanted a new Coach pocketbook and I wanted a new pair of sunglasses. So we get her bag for a wicked good deal! Ended up getting 2 pairs of sunglasses for $20. Then things get interesting. I go to Amy, lets just take a peek into the Sony store so I could oggle at some of the wicked awesome tv's. We ended up buying a 50" Sony TV!!! We're so crazy! Lol, the things obnoxiously huge, but I LOVE it. History channel in HD Baby! (And of course the Bruins and Red Sox! Drooooool)

Then this morning, we get a nice lil wake up call. Someone decided to play ding dong ditch at 3am! I was not a happy camper. Thankfully it wasn't anything else and the dog also went back to sleep almost immediately. Otherwise, it was just an early start to my morning. Oh well.

Crazyass week!

Work's been nuts for my four day cycle. There have been accidents here up to wazoo lately. Most of them severe or rare (just now had a car crash into a building!) But ya, I'm glad today's my Friday and get to enjoy the next couple days off and hang out with Amy on Sunday! Yippy! Other than that, relatively quiet in the world of Dan :P

Got me twitter! I'll probably post my random thoughts there throughout my boredom at work. That is all!

Playoff Hockey!

Is what I hope I'll be talking about in a few weeks. It's getting down to the nitty gritty and the B's are fighting it out for a playoff spot! Been to a couple games the last couple weeks. Won tickets to one game where we were in the 13th row behind the net! It was SO awesome even tho we got an overtime loss (we still get a point outta it) and went to the game last week as part of Ian's bday. Ended up winning that in the last couple minutes of the game! Totally awesome :-D Other than that, just been working, that's bout it. Quite the exciting life I live. Oh, and now that I got Super Smash brothers for the Wii, I'm sure my off time will be consumed by that :P

So I wonder...

Anyone even read my blog or am I just talking to myself? I have a feeling that I'm just rambling to myself here lol. So ya, while I'm here, I mine as well tell myself what I've been up to. NOTHING! Lol, my life has pretty much been consumed by work, American Idol and Call of Duty! Yep, I live quite the crazy life.

Now that the Sox are starting up, I'm sure my life will be consumed by that as well! Go Sox.

That is all :P

Super Bowl Sunday!

Yep, this is it folks! It all comes down to this and boy am I nervous! The Patriots are 18-0 going for the last, and hopefully historic win today! Pretty nervous tho because we're playing the Giants who probably played the Patriots in their toughest contest in Week 17. The Pats barely squeaked out a win in the last quarter to maintain their perfection! So ya, even though theres bout 23 hours of pregame going on today, kickoff is at 6:15! Well, that's it from here, I know, I've been quiet lately but really haven't had much to say :-P

Happy New Years (a couple weeks late)

Haha, yea I know, I'm a lil late with the New Year wishes. Reason being, I just haven't had much to say! So far 2008 has been pretty uneventful. Went over to Nicole and Eric's for New Years and hung out with them and the MAndrea (oy) they looked like they coulda cared less about being there but Nic, Eric, Amy and myself all had a blast playing 2007 pop culture charades, lots of XBox (Halo 3 til 3am!) and lots of booze! Anyways, at work now and getting ready to have the weekend off and probably not doing too much but hanging out with Amy and rocking out with Ian and then hopefully watching the Patriots advance to the AFC Championship, otherwise the 16-0 will be all for naught.
