Thursday we actually up picked out the wood pellet stove that we're having installed (having it done in October which is the soonest they can do it!!!) It was actually just starting to get busy there too and we went there right when it opened. After we ended up doing that, we went down to Falmouth which is a town on the southern part of the Cape ( Map). So we basically hung around the town, went to the beach, did some shopping and then ate at a lil Irish pub/restaurant. Wasn't too shabby.
Friday we ended up going to the Museum of Science. They got this baseball exhibit-link, which I think is a travelling exhibit that goes throughout the whole country on a tour more or less with all this memorabilia from the 1800's-present. More or less a mini Cooperstown. I was like a lil like a little kid going from exhibit to exhibit, taking it all in. They had lil interactive things too, which I did most of. They have one where you can pitch from the 60' 6" mark at a target (needless to say I'm a lil rusty HA!) They had a thing to test reaction time (didn't do that), a radar to see how fast you throw (I didn't crack 60mph lmao!) and they had this one where you stand behind some glass and this machine pitches you a 90mph fastball and you test your reaction time by pressing a button when you think you need to swing. First pitch I was a tad early, second I looked like a fool! So that was mighty fun! :-D Went throughout the rest of the museum too for awhile and that was might fun as well.
So by this time we were pretty famished and decided we needed to get some grub before sitting on the train for the next 45 minutes. So we walk by the Gah-den and are walking along and we see Boston Beer Works. If you click on Canal Street and then the Outdoor Patio, that's where we ate. Amy ended up ordering a Watermelon Ale which had this slice of watermelon that added a lil additional flavor to her beer while I had a Boston Common which was more or less like a Sam Adams. For grub, Amy got this Pesto chicken thing stuffed in a roll called a "Dreaded Monster" meanwhile I had a "Nor'easter Chicken Sandwich" which essentially was grilled chicken, cheddar cheese and Canadian Bacon.
So we're probably halfway through our meal when another couple comes and sits down in the table right next to us. I did a triple take, and being the lil kid that I am, I go to Amy, "OMG, that's Patrice Bergeron from the Boston Bruins!" So meanwhile I'm trying to control my giddiness and Amy apparently was getting embarrassed lol. The girl he was with was an identical twin to Jessica Simpson if I've ever seen one but I highly doubt that it was her because Patrice was speaking French the whole time and I highly doubt Jessica knows French lol! So at some point, I go to Amy, I'm gonna get a scrap piece of paper from the bar and have him sign it! Needless to say I was so nervous the whole time and as I go up to him, I politely ask for his autograph and he obliges. I thankfully had my digicam with me so I then asked for a picture with him!! So ya, that sure made my day and was on cloud 9 for the rest of the day. I'd imagine it probably felt good to be recognized outside your profession and it was even kinda funnier cuz after I did the auto/pic people became really curious and I don't think anyone had any clue as to who he was!
Me and PatriceThen Saturday I dragged Amy to the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Dropkick Murphys concert. It was so much fun I think Amy probably got embarrassed by my sheer goofyness!! :-D
